History
Deep Roots in Security
Baker-Eubanks, LLC was founded in Chicago, Illinois in 1997 as a full- service security training and consulting firm. From the beginning, the company's focus was on helping organizations maintain a safe and secure workplace. The firm provided a broad range of security services to domestic and international companies, government agencies and other organizations that wished to protect their assets against threats involving people, property, profits and image.
Very quickly, Baker-Eubanks became a leader in its field in the Midwest, and had name recognition throughout the country. After the Columbine High School tragedy of 1999, the firm designed methodologies for school security assessments, crisis management, and teacher/student training curriculums that are being used, even today, by some schools in the Chicago area. Following the events of 9/11, the firm was called upon by Sears Tower in Chicago, and other major buildings on the east coast, to conduct security assessments of their properties, and provide security training to their employees.
Eventually, clients began requesting that Baker-Eubanks conduct their risk assessment profiles on potential new hires. Thus began, not only a major expansion of an "internal-support" operation, but also the design of a different approach to what we know today as "background investigations”. Today, this process drives the core business of Baker-Eubanks, LLC.
