Founded in Chicago, Illinois in 1997 as a full service corporate security training and consulting firm, Baker-Eubanks quickly became recognized as a leader in its field in the Midwest. The firm provided a broad range of security services to domestic and international companies, government agencies, and other organizations that wished to protect their assets against threats involving people, property, profits and image.
Eventually, in response to client demand, the firm began focusing development resources on its most rapidly expanding boutique product: executive due diligence. Thus began the design of a different approach to due diligence.
Now, for over a decade, Baker-Eubanks has provided customized executive screening services to public and private organizations, assisting in the selection of over 2,000 senior level candidates.
As pioneers in the development of executive due diligence, we have gained an in-depth understanding of what clients need and expect in support of the acquisition of exceptional executive talent.
Meet Baker-Eubanks’ CEO
Jim Webb is an entrepreneur, former insurance executive, and founder of Baker-Eubanks, LLC.
Prior to founding Baker-Eubanks, Webb was chairman, president and CEO of Dental Network of America. Under his leadership, the company became the leading managed dental care company in North America. His earlier career was largely spent in executive roles at Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Illinois.
He has served as a Director of Harris Bank and Bankmont Financial Corp., Treasurer and Board Member of the American Academy of Actuaries, Director of Evanston Northwestern Healthcare Corp., a member of the Board of Trustees of National Louis University, and National Chairman of the Morehouse College Alumni Annual Fund. He has also been appointed to various state advisory committees by three former Illinois governors.
Webb’s proudest accomplishments have been those associated with government and social service, including terms as a suburban Village Mayor, School Board President, and board member on various Chicago social service agencies. His earlier community involvement included working with Chicago banks and faith-based organizations to establish the nonprofit Home Investments Fund, which financially assisted minority families relocating to Chicago Suburbs.
After living in the Chicago-area for 40 years, Webb moved to the Triangle region of North Carolina, where he has become an active community participant in Durham-based nonprofits and UNC-affiliated programs.
As an MBA graduate in Actuarial Science, Webb has an in-depth understanding of risk management – and the critical need for accuracy and reliability when making assessments that could impact a business’s assets, employees and reputation.
